Jack writing some cards to his family |
Jack was good about sending postcards to his family and I'm sure they
enjoyed receiving them. He and I had sent some mail back in Ft Nelson
(wasn't it). You'll have to go back to page 6 to check on me.
Good looking cabin, huh? |
Bud's not quite awake yet |
We awoke the next morning with great anticipation of moving on down the
highway. We had a long way to go and not much time to make the trip
before I had to be in Anchorage for my return flight home.
We had plenty of drivers (5), so we planned to drive straight through
with some sleeping while others drove. The pickup was an extra cab
and it had a mattress in the pickup bed, so we rode with two in front,
Rhoda usually in the back seat (reclining), and the remaining two back
on the mattress talking or sleeping. |
Bud, Jack, Ted, & Rhoda. (Andy taking the picture) |
Stopped along the way for a rest break and a picture of the great
scenery. Alaska is like no place I've ever been before - wide open
spaces and tall mountain ranges that look like no one has ever been there. |
Same place (that's Bud & Ted) |
This is the same place taken farther back. |
